Effective date: 7 October 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern participation in the PG Press Referral Partner Programme (“Programme”). By applying to or participating in the Programme, you agree to these terms.
1. The Programme
The Programme allows approved referral partners (“Partners”) to promote eligible PG Press books using a unique referral link or discount code. Partners may earn commission on qualifying purchases successfully attributed to them.
Participation is subject to approval by PG Press. PG Press may approve or decline an application at its discretion.
2. Partner benefits
An approved Partner receives:
- A unique referral link and/or discount code
- Access to a private Partner account and performance reports
- A commission equal to 9% of qualifying product revenue
- A 6% discount for customers who use the Partner’s valid discount code on eligible purchases
The customer discount and Partner commission percentages may only be changed by PG Press. Partners may not create, modify or promise additional discounts on behalf of PG Press.
3. Qualifying purchases
Commission is calculated on the product amount actually paid after discounts. Commission does not apply to:
- Delivery or shipping charges
- Taxes
- Refunded, cancelled or fraudulent orders
- Chargebacks
- Unpaid orders
- Gift cards, excluded products or other amounts declared ineligible by PG Press
Where a valid Partner discount code is used, the purchase will ordinarily be attributed to the Partner linked to that code. Where no Partner code is used, referral-link attribution will follow the tracking rules configured by PG Press.
PG Press’s transaction records will be used to determine attribution and commission, subject to correction where a clear error is identified.
4. Referral tracking
A referral link may track a customer for up to 30 days, provided that tracking is not prevented or deleted by the customer’s browser, device, privacy settings or other technology.
Where a customer interacts with more than one Partner referral link, the most recent eligible referral may receive the commission. PG Press cannot guarantee tracking where cookies are blocked, deleted or unavailable.
5. Commission status and refunds
Commission may initially appear as pending. It becomes eligible for payment only after:
- PG Press has received the customer’s payment;
- The order has not been cancelled, refunded or charged back; and
- The 30-day reconciliation period has passed.
If an order is refunded, cancelled, reversed or found to be fraudulent, the related commission may be rejected, removed or deducted from a future balance.
6. Payments
The minimum payout amount is R500. Eligible payments will be processed by electronic funds transfer according to the monthly PG Press payout cycle, normally within seven business days after reconciliation.
Balances below R500 will carry forward until the threshold is reached. Partners must provide accurate banking, identification and tax information when requested.
Partners are responsible for declaring and paying any taxes applicable to their earnings. Participation does not create an employment relationship, partnership, agency or joint venture with PG Press.
7. Self-referrals
Partners may not earn commission on purchases made by themselves, on their behalf or primarily for their own benefit.
Partners may purchase PG Press books as ordinary customers, but those purchases will not qualify for Partner commission.
Attempts to manipulate attribution, create artificial transactions or misuse a Partner code may result in rejected commission and removal from the Programme.
8. Acceptable promotion
Partners must promote PG Press honestly, professionally and lawfully. Partners may not:
- Make false, misleading or unsubstantiated claims
- Misrepresent themselves as employees or authorised representatives of PG Press
- Use spam, unsolicited bulk messaging or unlawful marketing practices
- Bid on PG Press brand names in paid search advertising without written permission
- Publish offensive, discriminatory, defamatory or unlawful content in connection with PG Press
- Alter PG Press branding or marketing materials in a misleading manner
- Use deceptive websites, accounts or identities to generate referrals
Partners must clearly disclose that they may earn commission from purchases made through their link or code.
9. Brand and intellectual property
PG Press may provide approved logos, book images, descriptions and promotional materials. These materials remain the property of PG Press or the relevant rights holder.
Partners receive limited permission to use approved materials solely to promote eligible PG Press products while participating in the Programme. This permission ends when participation ends.
A Partner may not register or use a business name, domain, social-media account or advertisement that could reasonably be mistaken for an official PG Press platform.
10. Partner accounts
Partners are responsible for keeping their login details secure and ensuring that their account and payment information remain accurate.
Performance information displayed in the Partner account may be subject to reconciliation, refunds, fraud checks and administrative corrections. Displayed figures do not constitute a guarantee of payment until the commission has been approved.
11. Privacy and customer information
PG Press processes Partner and customer information in accordance with applicable South African privacy laws and its Privacy Policy.
Partners may only use customer information lawfully obtained through their own promotional activities. Participation in the Programme does not give Partners access to PG Press customer records or permission to contact PG Press customers directly.
12. Suspension and termination
Either the Partner or PG Press may end participation in the Programme.
PG Press may suspend or terminate an account immediately where there is suspected fraud, misuse, unlawful conduct, reputational harm or a breach of these terms. Invalid or improperly obtained commissions may be rejected.
Valid commission earned before termination may be paid after reconciliation, provided that the Partner has complied with these terms and reached the applicable payout threshold.
13. Programme changes
PG Press may update the Programme, commission rates, discounts, eligible products, payout arrangements or these terms when reasonably necessary.
Material changes will apply from the date communicated or published and will not ordinarily reduce commission already approved before the change. Continued participation after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
14. No income guarantee
PG Press does not guarantee that a Partner will generate sales or earn a particular amount. Results depend on the Partner’s promotional activity, audience, customer behaviour and other factors outside PG Press’s control.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute will be handled under South African law and by the courts with appropriate jurisdiction.
