Terms & Conditions
Effective date: 21 August 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of pgpress.co.za and purchases made through the PG Press online store.
By using this website, creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or submit an order.
1. About PG Press
PG Press is a South African publishing and bookselling business operated by PG PRESS (2026/647276/07).
Website: https://pgpress.co.za
General enquiries: hello@pgpress.co.za
Order enquiries: orders@pgpress.co.za
2. Related Policies
These Terms and Conditions should be read together with our:
- Shipping & Delivery Policy
- Returns & Refunds Policy
- Privacy Policy
These policies form part of the terms applicable to purchases made through the website.
3. Website Use
You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes.
You may not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or another customer’s account
- Interfere with the website’s security or operation
- Introduce malicious software or harmful code
- Use automated systems to scrape or copy website content without permission
- Submit false, misleading or fraudulent information
- Use the website in a way that infringes another person’s rights
We may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, customers or PG Press.
4. Product Information
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, prices, images and availability are accurate.
Product images are provided for illustration. Minor differences in colour, finish, dimensions or appearance may occur because of printing, production or screen settings.
If a material error affects an order, we will contact you and provide an appropriate opportunity to confirm, amend or cancel the order.
5. Prices
All prices are displayed in South African rand unless stated otherwise.
Delivery charges and any other applicable costs will be displayed before the order is submitted.
PG Press may change prices at any time. A price change will not affect an order already accepted and paid for, except where an obvious pricing error has occurred.
6. Placing an Order
Submitting an order is an offer to purchase the selected products.
An automated order acknowledgement confirms that we have received the order. It does not necessarily mean that the order has been accepted.
An order is accepted once payment has been confirmed and PG Press confirms that the order can be fulfilled.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where:
- Payment has not been completed or verified
- A product is unavailable
- The price or product information contains a material error
- Fraud or unauthorised activity is suspected
- Delivery cannot reasonably be completed
- The order violates these terms
Where an order that has already been paid for is cancelled by PG Press, the applicable amount will be refunded.
7. Payments
Payments are processed through the payment methods made available during checkout.
Payment services may be provided by third-party providers such as PayFast. Their own terms and privacy practices may also apply.
An order will not be treated as paid merely because a payment attempt was initiated. Payment must be successfully confirmed.
PG Press does not ordinarily store complete bank-card details.
8. Availability and Stock
Products are subject to availability.
Placing an item in your basket does not reserve it. If a product becomes unavailable after payment, we will contact you to offer an appropriate replacement, revised fulfilment timeframe or refund.
We may limit the quantity of a product that may be purchased in a single order where reasonably necessary.
9. Pre-Orders
A pre-order reserves a product that has not yet been released or is awaiting stock.
Expected release and dispatch dates are estimates and may change because of printing, production, supply or delivery circumstances.
If a material delay occurs, we will provide updated information where reasonably possible.
A pre-order may be cancelled before dispatch for a refund. Once dispatched, the normal Returns & Refunds Policy applies.
10. Delivery
Physical orders are delivered using the option selected during checkout.
Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate contact, delivery and collection information.
Delivery timeframes are estimates and begin after dispatch. Full delivery terms, charges and procedures are contained in our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
Risk relating to returned, damaged, defective, incorrect or undelivered products will be handled in accordance with applicable law and our published policies.
11. Digital Products
Digital products are delivered electronically to the email address or customer account associated with the order.
You are responsible for entering a valid email address and maintaining access to it.
A digital purchase grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to access and use the product for its intended personal purpose.
You may not reproduce, resell, distribute, upload, share or commercially exploit a digital product without written permission from the relevant rights holder.
Digital-product returns and technical problems are addressed in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
12. Returns, Refunds and Cancellations
Returns, refunds and order cancellations are governed by our Returns & Refunds Policy and applicable South African consumer law.
Nothing in these terms limits a consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
13. Customer Accounts
You may be able to create an account to view orders, manage information or access products.
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your password confidential
- Providing accurate account information
- Activity conducted through your account
- Notifying us if you suspect unauthorised access
We may suspend an account where fraudulent, abusive or unauthorised activity is reasonably suspected.
14. Publishing Enquiries and Services
Information about publishing support on this website is general and does not constitute a binding publishing agreement, quotation or guarantee of acceptance.
Publishing services, author arrangements, fees, responsibilities, intellectual-property rights and revenue arrangements will be governed by a separate written agreement where PG Press and an author decide to work together.
Submitting an enquiry does not guarantee that PG Press will accept a manuscript or project.
15. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the website’s branding, design, text, graphics, original images and other content belong to PG Press or are used with permission.
Book covers, manuscripts, excerpts and other author-owned material remain subject to the rights of their respective owners.
You may view and use the website for personal, lawful purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, republish or commercially exploit protected content without the appropriate written permission.
16. Reviews and Submitted Content
If you submit a review, testimonial or other content, you confirm that:
- The content is truthful and based on your genuine experience
- You have the right to submit it
- It does not infringe another person’s rights
- It is not unlawful, abusive, defamatory or misleading
We may moderate or remove submitted content where reasonably necessary.
17. Third-Party Services and Links
The website may use or link to third-party services, including payment, delivery, email and social-media platforms.
PG Press does not control every aspect of these third-party services and is not responsible for their independent content or practices. Their own terms and policies may apply.
18. Website Availability
We aim to keep the website available and functioning correctly, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed.
We may temporarily restrict access for maintenance, security, technical problems or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
19. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PG Press will not be responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising solely from use of the website or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
PG Press does not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including rights and remedies available under applicable consumer-protection law.
20. Events Beyond Our Control
PG Press will not be responsible for delays or failure caused by circumstances reasonably beyond our control, including disruptions affecting printers, suppliers, delivery providers, payment systems, communications networks, infrastructure or public services.
We will take reasonable steps to communicate material delays and find an appropriate solution.
21. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions when our business practices, services or legal obligations change.
The version applicable to an order will generally be the version published when that order was submitted.
23. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Any dispute will be addressed in accordance with applicable South African law and the rights available to consumers.
